Greetings Fellow Artists,


September 11, 2023 will be our next Guild meeting. We will have an open forum with questions and discussions so that members can make suggestions.


Please consider filling one of our chair positions. We need a treasurer and a scholarship chairperson. Please e-mail me if you have any interest or any questions.


Thanks to all who have volunteered in the past.


Looking forward to another fun, artistic year with all of you. Please invite your friends and neighbors to join the Guild. New and renewed membership were due September 1.

Membership Renewal


MPAG Artists, it's time to renew your membership! Current memberships expire on August 31, 2023. All members are asked to complete a new membership form and submit your dues as soon as possible. The membership form is available on the website: https://www.perspectiveartgallery.com/about-2.


Forms and dues can be dropped off or mailed to Perspective Gallery, or bring them with you to our first Meeting on Sep 11, 2023. If you aren't sure of your membership status or have other membership questions please contact Val Harvey at valkharvey2@gmail.com or 847.810.9283.


Betsy Jones McDonald Workshop


Betsy McDonald will teach a Color Theory Workshop on Sunday, January 28, 2024 from 10 am until 3 pm at Perspective Art Gallery. You can find details and sign up at her website, https://www.betsymcdonald.com.






Field and Flow: A Plein Air Painting Retreat


A plein air painting retreat will take place on Johns Island in November. Here are the dates and artists:

MPAG May 2023 Meeting minutes


President Robin Beckner called meeting to order announcing this was the last guild meeting for calendar year, Monday, May 8, at 7pm. The first meeting of the 2023/2024 guild year will be Monday Sept. 11, 2023.


She asked for approval of the meeting minutes from April and were approved by members.


The guild still needs a Treasurer (board position) and a scholarship chair for upcoming guild year. Please contact Robin Beckner if interested.


She welcomed new members and asked them to introduce themselves.

Peoples Choice Award- Karen Reynolds


News- The town of Mt Pleasant is accepting applications for art in the community,

traffic boxes, oyster shell displays, and art in the Mayor’s office. Towns website has form to apply.


Ginny Versteegan is starting up a Plein Air group. Please contact her at 843-209-2435.

Karen’s Corner Art Gallery is taking painting donations for an auction before 5/19/2023 for the shrimp boat that caught fire recently. Please contact Karen at 843-971-4110.


Treasurer Donna Keohane announced the Guild operating account balance $2,889.85 and the scholarship account balance $6,055.97

Membership chair Lucy Richmond announced 158 members.


VP DeeDee Conant announced her VP departure and thanked Lucy Richmond for taking over as VP of the guild.


DeeDee announced Daniel Strickland as the guest artist. Daniel lived in Charleston for 25 years and now resides in Georgetown SC with his family. He has had many careers and wore many hats and started painting 3 years ago with his daughters for fun at summer break and now is a full time artist. He paints acrylic and does both brush and palette strokes. His mentor is Danny McLaughlin a Georgetown artist. His work is at Art Harbor in Georgetown and Perspective Gallery Mt Pleasant.

Signature Status


The South Carolina Watermedia Society has awarded Katherine Bates signature status for her acceptance to three or more national shows. Her painting, "Peony!" is on display at the society's current show in Pickens, SC. It will hang until October 6.
